The Royal Crown Turnip is a hybrid, and a big improvement over other purple topped varieties we've tried. Tops are shorter but have more leaves per plant making them ideal for greens. The white root is very smooth and slightly flattened with purple blotches on top. Matures quickly in either spring or fall and flavor is excellent.

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 60-75ºF.
Seed Sowing Depth: 1/2" deep
Sowing Outdoors: Starting in early spring through late summer. Sow 1/2-1" apart, thin to 3-6" apart, soon after the seedlings emerge. Sow every 7-10 days for a continuous harvest.

Harvest: Leafy greens and roots from baby to full size. The younger the roots the more tender better flavor.
